Philippines has been active when it comes to joining the world's prestige beauty pageants like the Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Earth and the Miss Supranational. And it has been a true blessing for our delegates for the Miss Earth because it is held here in the Philippines most of the time and they can easily join and compete for this pageant. But for the Miss Earth, Philippines only got one crowned queen named Karla Paula Ginteroy Henry in 2008. For the Miss Universe there are two crowned Filipinas named Gloria Maria Aspillera Diaz (1969) and Maria Margarita Roxas Moran (1973). And after 41 years we are hoping that Mary Jean Lastimosa (Philippines representative for the Miss World 2014) will be crowned the third Miss Universe from the Philippines. On the other hand, Megan Young successfully got the first ever Miss World crown for the Philippines last year 2013.
